Since the 1st October 1962 Durolas (Contractors) Limited have operated from their offices and yard in the Kings Norton area of Birmingham. The company is very well established having operated for over 70years and have a wide client base including Health Authorities, Local and Regional Councils, Education Authorities, Industrial and Commercial Business’s and can offer a very diverse service ranging from a single pothole repair to a complete surfacing project for car parks, roadways and pedestrian areas.

Durolas are approved by the following SSIP bodies, Achilles, CHAS, Safe Contractor, Altius, and Constructionline. We are members of Birmingham Health Safety Environment Association (BHSEA), the British Standards Institute (BSI) and the Logistics UK formerly known as the Freight Transport Association.

Where practicable materials goods and services are purchased from suppliers who can demonstrate good Sustainability and socially ethical performances, preferably certified by a UKAS registered body/organisation or similar third party. 

Wherever possible preference is given to locally sourced materials as the Company is committed to promoting local enterprise and is a committed member of the Birmingham social charter as we feel that this has positive, environmental, social and economic benefits for the local community.

We believe that ensuring the best principles of ethical and sustainable procurement demonstrates our commitment to comply with current Environmental and Social Legislation as well as helping to build a sustainable supply chain and manage risk reputation.

All Management, Staff and Employees hold enhanced DBS verifications as well as pertinent trade related qualifications. We can therefore give assurance that we carry out our undertakings in a manner that exceeds all existing requirements as laid down in relevant Health, Safety and Environmental Regulations.

The Company has been structured to provide our Clients with the assurance that we carry out all of our undertakings in house, all operatives are directly employed under the Payee Scheme and in full compliance with all current Employment Laws including Equality, Human Trafficking, Working Time Regulations to name a few. The Company has robust policies and procedures in these areas.

Durolas (Contractors) Ltd do not sub-contract unless specialist services are requested by our clients or where we would adopt the role of a Principle Contractor for a large project. All Sub-Contractors are subjected to our in-house stringent appraisal procedures.
